MINI Dashboard Lights & Their Meanings

The different colors of MINI warning lights can help you understand how to react if you see them during your drives in Corrales. Red lights shouldn’t be ignored, as they may indicate a risk to your vehicle or your safety. Yellow lights are also important to pay attention to, as they indicate when something isn’t working correctly or an important system was turned on or off. Green lights aren’t urgent, as they simply indicate which systems are currently in use. Learn more below:

• Seatbelt Reminder: This light is red to indicate an urgent reminder to the driver and/or passengers to fasten their seatbelts.

• Airbag System: A red light depicting an inflated airbag indicates a fault in the airbag system; schedule an inspection as soon as possible.

• Parking Brake: This red light will illuminate when the parking brake is applied. If the light remains illuminated after releasing the brake, there may be a system fault; have your vehicle inspected promptly.

• Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS): This yellow light indicates an ABS malfunction; schedule service as soon as possible.

• Dynamic Stability Control (DSC): If this yellow light flashes, it means DSC is actively regulating the acceleration and braking forces to help stabilize your vehicle. If the light stays on, there may be a system fault; schedule service as soon as possible.

• Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS): If you see this yellow warning light, at least one of your tires has low pressure. Adjusting the air pressure in the affected tire(s) should deactivate the light. If the light stays on, there may be a fault in the TPMS; schedule service promptly. 

• Fog Lights: If you see a green symbol of a headlamp with a wavy line, it’s a confirmation that your fog lights are currently on.

• Cruise Control: A green speedometer icon with an arrow indicates that cruise control is active.
